This year, once again, Age of Mythology Heaven had a great screenshot contest; Hocus Pocus, and we had a great turnout. Why not check out the entries? |

- Member of the Month: April 2008
- Posted by Shanks13 on May 01st, 2008 @ 4:28 p.m.
- This month, the award goes to the famed GD member DeathAndPain! DeathAndPain is known for his encyclopedic answers and knowledgability about AoM and other technical difficulties. I thought it would be great to get to know a bit more about him!
DeathAndPain: Well, I am a 35-year-old systems administrator, living in a flat in Berlin with my girlfriend. I also have a kid, but that is with my ex, from whom I am currently divorced. He is also living with her. My hobbies are comprised of computer games as well as astrology and esoterics in general. Sports-wise, I like to ballroom dance or play table tennis. I occasionally play chess. So far, I have encountered one guy on the German chess server who correctly guessed who the real player "DaP" was. Most people there have no idea for obvious reasons.

- Scenario Announcements
The Easter Break has had quite a damaging effect on scenarios, but there are still some more projects out there.
Baseballkid14 announced his Death King RPG, for multiplayer. Hygraffo announced a singleplayer RPG named Terra Incognito and nottud made us laugh with another crazy map: Battle of the flying wizards.
Screenshots
Unfortunately, Paperfriend has left us, and he has given me the task of hosting the Continuous Screenshot Competition. The new theme is The Beauty Of Nature and the voting has just started.
The winners this month have been Yeebaagooon, Elrich and Elrich. Yes, Elrich won twice.
Guides
Only two guides this month, probably because of Easter too. One guide was by Firefax and is very handy if you want a graveyard in your scenario. Check out the Great Grave Guide.
Stephen Caines has also gifted us with his Modelling guide. Stephen is a very well known modder, so this will be great for people who want to learn moddeling.
Downloads Section
Tyras12 release a Ra's Revenge scenario. The screenshot looks quite good, and I know he would appreciate a few comments about it.
Nick_The_Hunn also added to his geography maps with Mesopotamia Wars.
CRATOS released his Ajax VS The evil empire singleplayer RPG map.
And Dope released a Crazy Water singleplayer scenario.
If new people want to advertise their scenarios, they should post in the newly redesigned Project Database

- AoMH Forum Party
- Posted by Yeebaagooon on April 20th, 2008 @ 08:35 a.m.
AoMH Forum Party
I've decided to have a few test forum parties to see what people like doing, so we can keep more active.
Theme - A day at the races! (Race scenarios, any scenario with a race theme. Could include horse races, donkey races, avalanche runs, volcano runs etc.)
Time - 4 PM EST (forum time) / 9 PM GMT on April the 26th
Place - ESO, Taiwanese speakers
This is the only thread so I can organise everything in one place.
Shanks let me take control over forum parties, I thought having a scenario theme would be a great new way to get people together. All the GDers can also go along and play their supremacy games, or try some race scenarios.
I hope we get a good turnout
. If people are stuck for scenarios, just search for race scenarios in the downloads section.
- A Heads-Up on Copyrighted Material
- Posted by Shanks13 on April 12th, 2008 @ 12:12 a.m.
- It has recently come to the attention of the staff that copyrighted material, specifically music, is being uploaded to the downloads section in taunts and in downloads apparently devoted solely to distributing music. This sort of thing is against the law, and I am therefore going to request that anyone who has uploaded copyrighted material to please remove it. Failure to do so will result in action being taken against the file and the account that submitted it.
In the future, when making a scenario or submitting a file, think about what you put in it and try to be careful with the use of copyrighted materials. If you have any questions, feel free to get in contact with me. Thanks for your cooperation.
- Voting for Custom Titles!
- Posted by Shanks13 on April 10th, 2008 @ 4:47 p.m.
- The time is upon us, you all can now have a say in what we call you! We hope you enjoy what we've picked for you to vote on, and once this is over, you'll all have new pretty names! Only vote once, and please bold your vote.

- Posted by I Love Bananas on April 07th, 2008 @ 04:51 a.m.
- Most of the scenario designers of this site has already heard of AoM Insider. It was started by, and is run by, Firefax, one of the more respected designers at Age of Mythology Heaven.
The concept is to give publicity to the many projects that are being created for Age of Mythology, and works much like the Downloads Spotlight we used to have at AoMH. In addition to this, Firefax frequently posts some very interesting "A look back"-posts, where he takes a look back at early versions of the game. From time to time, there's also interviews with members of AoMH.
Firefax is working hard on this, so if you find the time, then you really ought to read AoM Insider.
