If you want it to die, just kill it with the kill trigger effect. Or, if you want to do something like this...

make it do its special attack against something. (that's when it does its hopping animation, right?)
Anytime during its animation, use the Set Animation effect and in the animation type-in box, make a random word or something like 'fake.' Whenever a unit is set to do an invalid animation such as 'fake' (there's no animation called 'fake') it will continuously perform the animation that it was doing at the time of the Set Animation trigger.

As far as I know, if it's not an animation found in the 'Cinematics' section of their animations list, then it can't be used in a Set Animation trigger.
AoM Expert knows a way to do non-cinematic animations in the Set Animation trigger. He posted it right up there. It requires modding though, I think.
