Here's some vague/general tips...
Major tip: never let TC go idle in Archaic and a couple minutes+ into classical.
Research hunting tech if you see a lot of huntable animals around, and research the herdable animal tech if you have a lot of herdable animals around.
Make 20-25 villagers in classical; first 6-8 on food to give you a good enough supply of food to keep the TC from becoming idle. Then it depends on your civ. where you place the rest of your vils(And I'm assuming you aren't playing Thor all-dwarf build)
As you are researching the Classical age, upgrade your wood/gold upgrades.
Once classical (hopefully it's between 5-6.5 minutes), build more vils and also build military buildings. Once these buildings are finished, try to make a steady flow of vils and military units. Place vils on whatever resource of yours is low.
When in classical, and your population is 115 or as close as you can get, start upgrading all of your technologies. Also, if you haven't attacked yet, now is a good time.
Watch recorded games of experts and copy their strategies.
One big tip for the finale: Just play a lot!
