I'm talking about 1800+ players smurfing, players that are really really good, playing against average players or less. How many players are actually at that level out of the total that are playing the game at any time? 1 out of 20 sounds right to me, as was suggested in another thread. Even if its 1 out of 10 or more, that's not enough to make a real statistical difference.
Note that I'm talking about 1800+ smurfs. I'm not scared of 1750 smurfs. They're not as good as they think they are, and as far as I'm concerned, that rating isn't worth smurfing to save.
I played a team game not that long ago, pretty good game, wild and wooly battles, lasted into mythic, and we eventually beat them. You should have heard them crying!

But we're 1750s smurfs, how could we possibly lose to 1670s players?
I lost to 1950s smurfs (alleged) yesterday. No big deal, except they weren't very gracious over the drubbing that they gave us. They were really gleeful over beating players well below their level. Not sure why they would even bother.
Anyway, smurfs are a pain, especially ignorant smurfs, but I don't see how the could possibly be numerically significant enough to matter as much as the crying about them would indicate.
