Topic Subject:Why the greeks shouldn't get a wood gathering bonus

I've read some forumers calling for the greeks to get an upgraded wood gathering rate. If the norse are trimmed with 1.5, as many are expecting, I think it's possible that one of the greeks might come into play as the the power civ (again!) In any case, I do think the greeks need an upgrade in some areas, but if you give the greeks a wood gathering bonus well, then they'd be overpowered in my mind (Imagine all the archers!)
I say trim the norse just a little, and the game will be better balanced. It'll be interesting to see what civ becomes "strong" after the next patch, if any change really does occur at all. It's possible the patch may make little difference.
We'll see.

The absence of classical pure counter units, the weak sea booming(docks cost too much wood considered that greeks need so much wood generally for resource camps, multiple military units) and the need for making multiple military buildings to get all units, make greeks slightly underpowered imo.
ES should help them a little, especially zeus. Poseidon looks fine to me. Hades is decent. But zeus is a total joke. Hoplites cost crazy ammounts of food which is impossible to gather on classical(unless you are on watering holes) and those expensive units die like flies against tas and axemen. A reduced price on his hoplites would make him awsome god to play but then again it might make him overpowered considered that hoplites kick major butt(for their population) and zeus hoplites get a bonus against buildings.
ES shouldnt give greeks a wood gathering bonus/unit cause each civ should be different and this will make greeks like the norse(they have dwarves). Slightly cheaper houses/military buildings/gathering camps/docks(i dont mean all of these buildings, just some of them should be cheaper) would be nice though.
I would prefer if others civs were given an advantage instead of trimming the 'overpowered' civ albeit a harder path to go down. This would result in more diversity and more fun in the longrun.
Ignorance is never an excuse for not having and opinion I don't want to alarm anyone, but it's time to panic

Make Greeks military building cost 50% gold and 50% wood ? Reduces the reliance on wood and gold is quickest to come by.

ok... what is with all this Zeus underpowered junk????? I play him and he owns. The problem most of you run into is building 2 or more barracks, when building a barracks and 2 archery ranges is a lot more helpful I really hope they don't nerf Norse, or at least not that much

Are you mad ? One Barracks (Academy) and 2 Archery Ranges ? YOu could never produce enough units to be competitive from those. I usually have a minimum of 4 Academies and 2-3 Stables / Archery ranges as necessary. I still get my butt handed back to me as Zeus
