I've been reading many posts after the patch's readme was out, and I saw many people saying "I will switch to Set", "Set was left overpowered" and so on.
I play Set 100% of my games, and I don't think that he is so overpowered. Of course, his ability to convert animals in map (and summon animals too) is a great bonus. But if you take this away (or nerf it badly), what is left for him? Nothing (ok, he still have stronger slingers, but that was not his main attribute). I mean, he don't have any economic upgrades until mythic. Ra and Isis are economically better than Set (I will not explain that fact, because I think averyone is aware of that, but if needed I will post a reply).
And if I remember correctly, Set was always been an underdog civ, until Loki Hersir Rush grows up, and people start to use Set to destroy such strategy. And so all Loki players start to complain how Set is overpowered. And what they didn't realized is that THIS STRAT WAS ALWAYS THERE, JUST WASN'T USED TOO OFTEN.
Instead of complaining about Set's animals, you should realize that VILLAGERS OWNS ANIMALS. And if you are going to switch to Set because you think he will be the next uber god, you should consider to switch to THOR, because Thor have a myth tech called "PIG STICKER" (it costs 100 Gold and 1 Favor, not that hard to get, right?) that make villagers even more deadly to animals. See??? I wasn't that hard, wasn't it? You just need to think a while.
If the number of Set players grows up, just pick Thor, and they won't try to rush you in archaic (Only Age that Set has some advantage).
And about what people is calling "dwarf bug", I call tell you it's not a bug! For example: Set's slinger have bonus to HP, and all other HP bonus are applied to his BASE HP, not to his FINAL HP. So why you norse players think that any bonus to dwarf's gathering rates should be applied to FINAL rate and not to BASE rate????????? If don my research correctly, ALL THE UPGRADES are made from BASE STATS, and not to FINAL STATS (Or else, Odin's Jarls would me MUCH MORE deadly). Why this would be different with dwarves?
