In this thread, Celios has described the special attacks of myth units. An example of what he has written is Boosts by 20%; 25 radius. Here he is describing how Fenris wolves affect each others attack, when in packs. Now, we all know they do this, and that they have to be near each other for it to happen, but note the numbers involved: never have we read actual figures such as +20% attack or 25 radius.
The lack of numbers shown in the user interface is one of the first things that struck me about Age of Mythology. In AoE, every upgrade and technology you could research showed numbers for exactly what it did. For example "Villagers +3 Wood carrying capacity". In Age of Mythology, you don't get these numbers. Of course they exist; naturally they are a fundamental concept in all RTS games.
I'm not doubting that Celios has got his facts right. But I am interested as to why these numbers aren't actually shown to the end user (player) of Age of Mythology. Any guesses?
