Map's anatolia, and I go light on fishing. I get a pretty fast classic as Isis, and start pumping rax units. Me and one of my teammates take over the middle ground (ALL of the gold) depriving both my direct opponent, and the guy next to him. Well appearantly, instead of fighting us off (they went heavy water, no land units), my guy starts going 100% wood and trade, minus the fishing he already had.
Needless to say, out comes the rax spam. He'd done a semi-fast heroic, getting there in around 8:30, so not only did I have to deal with the usual stables/archery ranges, I had to deal with fortresses. Not only does it hurt taking them, but it also sucks dealing with the eight happy-assed militia that pop out when it goes down.
Anyway, I wouldn't have cared so much, but this guy barely produced any actual units - only buildings. He had small groups of toxotes and prodromos, but his militia kept ripping my siege apart, and the fortresses would destroy all of my rax units. The guy, after all was said and done, out-massed everyone in the game having created close to 600 units in a 35 minute game. After watching the rec, I could count on toes and fingers how many rax units this guy produced - it was ridiculous. I ended up killing over 400 of this guy's mostly-militia army, and took down 62 buildings. The only reason the number wasn't higher is because my teammates helped me storm at the end after everyone else was dead.
Bottom line - it was lame. I've never thought of pos as having any inbalances, but then I've never seen this "strat" whored to this extent. I mean come on - under 100 rax units/MU's with 400+ militia? Anyway I'm just curious as to what other people think. I can't be the only one who considers this a bit over the top.
Oh, and in the end massed chariot archers and catapults were the key - too bad it took me forever to figure that out.
Edit: Seems I forgot to mention this person also had the weakest economy in the game, and made the fewest upgrades.
