Instruct an Egyptian laborer to build a house and hold the shift ket when you click, you can shift-click the building of houses.
So yes indeed, shift-click on buildings (any building) is what some people normally do.
The gather point build technique doesn't work on Norse. If you have a longhouse and qued a TAxman and you have an unfinished longhouse, if you set the gatherpoint there the TAxman would not help build the longhouse. It could quite posibly be just a technical bug, but it never works the same as an Egyptian or Greek villager.
And yes tbarak, you can also use shift-click on relics. You can even task the Hero to pick up multiple relics, just select your hero-hold the shift key and don't let go - right click on the relic and still hold the shift key - then right click on temple-then rightclick on another relic - then right click on the temple again - then let go of the shift key. The hero will now get the first relic, take it back to the temple, then get the second relic, and return it to your temple as well. I use it all the time, althought sometimes I have to make additional waypoints to avoid the enemy.
This is part of the reason why higher rated players don't bother with relics on certain games, extra micromanagement when you could be focusing on military and economy. (and some relics are just worthless)
Shift-clicking also works on farming.
Let's say you have 4 villagers idle, select all four of them, then click on the farm button, then shift-click four farms. Each time a farm is finished, a villager will start farming, you don't have to worry about tasking them to farm.
If you hold the shift key when you click on the idle villager tab, it will select ALL idle villagers. This also counts as shift-clicking. And this also works with the idle military/hero tabs.
