a)In AoC, the buildings play a more important role than just looking nice. I AoC, you'd need an army, or a group of siege weaponry, to wipe out a castle. Many sieges could be ended by placing a castle close to the enemy base, but in AoM buildings die easily, too easily.
b)In AoC, people actually used the civ bonuses a lot more, and they were bonuses that actually helped. Shades appear when units are killed? WTF?! Militia appear when buildings are killed? Okay, a little more useful, but not all-powerfull. I wonder how many people actually win a battle because of shades.
c)In AoC, the techs were more effective. There are many techs that you say "What is this useful for?". These examples include things such as:
1)Lord of Horses
2)Feral (who uses animals that much anyway?)
3)Eyes in the forest
4)Medjay
5)Funeral Barge
Many of the water techs are usually not needed, and that's another thing I'd like to comment on, which is:
d)In AoC, the water was important. You could trade through water, fish, and transport. Now, water is almost as if it is for show. The only places you really needed water defense are random maps such as Archipelago, etc. and since now you can't trade with boats, its even less useful.
e)The campaign in AoC was something to be proud of. It was difficult, and a scenario could often keep you going for several days, even weeks, until you finished it. In AoM, I can pass 4 scenarios per day, and that's only a minimum.
I hope ES takes these into consideration when making the X-pack.

I think signatures are a waste of bandwith, space, time. They are useless, unimportant, stupid, created for no purpose, and anyone who has one is stupid.
