Ra's Map control ability is poor,while it's so important in AOM.
Most civs can use the civ bonus or god power to get map control ability.For example Norse have good map control ability because of the military building.Set have very good scout plus free army help him pass classic age and FH,then use army or army + ancestor control your forward TC.Greek can use Cease fire to grab forward TC,or Bronze to win a battle or buy time to build TC.
In most games Ra player(me) get a opponent build forward beside my base(Norse) or 10 meters away(Greek).I can really do nothing but put myself in a poor situation(Less TC,castles around).
I have tried to find some way to change such situation,like cast Rain right before I need get my TC or right before a big battle starts.All the effort I made is to got a balanced battle.So my army is not eaten by enemy's army + GOD power.
Once in Myth age,either Ra player get Horus spearman upgrade or desert wind upgrade for camels,Ra becomes very strong.That time,these 2 units will only lose to their direct counter(See what very strong mean to an egypt player? It's not like Odin players when they have Jarl that no egypt unit can beat in heroic,they say jarl is fine).
Mark indicated very important point: Ra's weakest point is in classic and early heroic. In my mind,that period is little bit too long sinec Ra dont get god power to help and most important techs are only available in Myth age.
