Q: How do I connect with other people on ESOusing advanced Setup?
A: You can't connect to 60% of the games on ESO, especially the large rooms with 5 or more people already inside. Just keep randomly trying games until you get in, even if it's not your skill level. Count yourself lucky that you got in, even luckier if you got in a game with friends waiting.
Q: I am having trouble inviting my friend Zen into my game. When I try to invite him there invite button dissapears. How do I invite him?
A: Judging by the name starting with a "Z" you probably had to scroll down the friends list to highlight his name (boy aren't you popular!). Anyway, forget about it because ES has not even attempted to fix this bug that has been there since the beginning. You can't invite firends list if the name resides low enoguh that you have to scroll. See, ESO developers could not have possibly found this bug because they don't have too many friends because well they are eso developers so how could they!!!
Although we know they have known about this bug because I personally sent them an email explaining the problem. I doubt they will fix it in 1.07 but at least we know ES will adjust some monkey stats! Tell Zen to goto a specific room and invite him from that chat room. Thank god they changed the chat rooms from all those greek names so its at least easier to find "chatroom 2" than it is to find and spell Polymetheous room!
Q: How do I set a filter to only allow certain rated player ranges into my hosted game. For example, I only want to allow players rated 1700-1800 to enter my room so I get a good competative 3v3. I would use quickstart but there is no way in hell I will ever see a 3v3 in there!
A: THis functionality is missing even though it would be easy to impliment using a very simple {if then} clause. It would take an avg programmer about 5 minutes to add it and 15 to debug it. You can't filter like this. You must keep kicking out the 1600 losers that think its funny to keep coming back into your game and hitting 999.
Q: Why doesn't the games list auto update?
A: Because hitting the > and < arrow buttons is too much fun and everyone loves to try and enter a game that appears open when it is really full. Besides, what would ESO do with the "Update button". People would complain that the update button would not do anything! Anyway, the Zone had auto updating game information and ES thought a step BACKWARDS was the right thing to do, to make th egame a classic after all, or at least have classic functionality. After all AGE of Mythology occured probably before Age of Kings. ES felt that this would make people feel likethey are taking a step back into time.Q: Why can't I sort the game list by date created, rating, name of game, number of players, host player name, etc?
A: Because then you would find the games you want quicker and easier, and have less use for the "update button". Instead ESO will sort by game created date but give no indication as such so you are confused enough to try quick match rated. Luckily ES put more thought into this than you think. See, it would be near impossible to find the game you wanted if ESO had say 50,000 users, like Battlenet. The genious in thinking is this. ES knew so many people would get fed up with their system and quit, that they knew they would never need to add a game sorting feature since there would be so few games to pick from. By making ESO so shitty the number of games are really low and its easy to find a game in spite of the fact that you cannot sort them! Actually, they were suprised the first time the 17th game came on and the arrow button appeared. It's a good thing they coded in those arrow buttons instead of using a scroll bar or else we would probalby not be able to join any games that you need to scroll to much like how wee cannot invite anyone on our friends list that you have to scroll to. Thanks ES, you thought of everything!
