That message did pop up on my computer once after I moved my computer from one room to another and had to reconnect my internet wires, but it only poped up once, so the only reason that thing pops up is if you have that virus, or could it have been for some other reason why it poped up on screen.

If that message pops up you can prevent it from shutting down your computer by typing "shutdown -a" in the command prompt.

Yes sadly I got it yesterday, make sure all of you turn on XP firewall now, and download every new XP patch, this is a very annoying virus. but I did notice wile the shutdown window pops up, just turn back the computer clock for acouple of hours, gives you all the time you need to update anti virus and other things.

This virus must be everywhere. Just got the email myself, but thankfully I had Norton antivirus 2003 running. No problems here, but got a call from my parents and apparently they have it. Guess I'll try loading Norton onto their machine to see if it can be deleted.

Symantec has a tool that removes this worm. Go to google and type "Virus encyclpedia" click the symantec link and type W32,blaster,Worm on the search box. You will get alot of info and a tool to remove the virus.

The worm takes advantage of a vulnerability in Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Server 2003. which windows 98 does not have, your fine.
