THOR BETTER THEN ODIN?????!!!!!
I don't think thats correct Thor his bonusses are almost all for your dwarves the only good militairy thing he has is his armory but Odin has units that regenerate and what bout the minor gods odin can get the most powerfull Jarls in the game ODIN RULEZZZ
Dude, whatever. In Vanilla AOM, Thor can have the best Ulfsarks, throwing axemen, Raiding Calvary, ties for first with the best huskarls, and has the second best Jarls and seige.
His jarls are not too much worse, in fact, if the odin player doesn't go with either Freyja or Njord, the Thor player has the ability to have better jarls in the long run.
The fact that Thor can go with Bragi for near-uber-ulfsarks, and have Throwing axemen that are just as good as Odin's if he chooses Skadi just goes to show how versatile and powerful he can be.
The armory is far from a minor bonus and shouldn't be disregarded in the least.
Yes, it is definitely a good bonus that Odin's human units regenerate... but i'm not sure where you're trying to go with the whole minor gods thing; It's thanks to Thor's Minor god path, and the help of his armory that he is able to be so versatile.
To answer Toader's questions..... Well, first off, i'd just like to say I wouldn't really say any god is 'better' or 'worse' than any other god. But, i will say Thor is better in these following aspects:
First off, his economy. It's more versatile. Dwarves gather at pretty much the exact same rates as villagers, so you can feel free to throw in a couple dwarves into the build order to save on food (Thus, making your advancing time quicker.) The only downfall of this is that dwarves don't benefit as much from upgrades as much as villagers do, so by the time you get the last tech in mythic age, you'll notice the difference of woodcutting between a dwarf and villager.
On water maps, given a certain build order(s), he can advance quickly enough to pump out Longships before anyone else. Also, he can research "Burning Pitch" at his armory (It is an upgrade usually available in Heroic to a standard civ, if i remember right, and greatly helps arrow damage.)
He has more armory techs, for cheaper, and you can get them in any age. So, being cheaper, you can get them earlier at not as high of an opportunity cost as the other gods. This can allow you to have good peirce armor in Classical... and also, in the long run, have the best Ulfsarks and Raiding Calvary. (The last set of armory techs is the only thing that makes Thor's Ulfsarks better than Loki's, and his Raiding Calvary better than Odin's, since they both can have the same minor-god paths.)
As for some general strats? Well, one way you can play is similar to some of the generic Odin strats i've heard; Build at home, and raiding like crazy. (Usually choose freyja for that, for forest fire and better raiding cav.) Some people try to pull a semi-FH to put Odin's Hillfort bonus into a lot of use... I suppose you could do that same for Thor, but only really to get access to more techs (Such as Bragi's Swine Array and/or Call of Valhalla). Just a couple of ideas.
With me... Yeah, i do build at home, and i do attempt to raid, and depending on how well that goes i play by ear. *shrugs* My games usually end up lasting long because of that.
