What anoys me is how
I.E For Oak Trees, you see all these dry and crumply trees all scatered around the lush envirement. If you ever fly in one of those small planes or helicopters and look at a forest which your flying over, you'll noticed that the trees are basicly one color and different sizes ( just watch the discovery channel to see what i'm talking about )
So, i'm getting to the point now, Instead of having only 3 tree sets, why not have alot more? Like theres 3 ( possibly more) grass sets in AoM, why not have 3 ( possibly more ) tree sets for each main tree set?
Here i'll explain what i think they should look like.
Oak Forest:
Oak young - Short and lush trees
Oak normal - normal sized trees
Oak old - really tall big arse old trees that take up 3-4 inches on the computer screen.
Pine Forest:
same as above accept with pine trees and the old trees are obviously red wood trees
Palm forest:
this one'll have four offshoots
palm young: contains small palm shrubs
palm normal: normal sized palms as seen in the newest screenshot
palm old: tall and slightly wild palms
Palm green: same as normal palms accept instead of sand being underthem, theres grass, these trees can be found in a mediteranean climate, like spain.
Also each tree should have a season/age thing ( i dunno what to call it ) Where in the editer we can choose a number scale from 1 to 10 that changes the tree's condition. Like if we put 9 the oak trees would be dry with no/brown leaves, and if we put it on 5 they would have yellow and red leaves ( signaling the season of auttum ) and a 1 would make the trees lush and green.
This would work for all trees and would be a cool feture, just like night and day where you can play with this switch thing to change it from night to day ( as seen in the E3 movies )
The benifits from this would be a mutch more expanded ratio of scenarios ( snowy scenarios, dry arabian scenarios ) and a mutch wider range for Random Map Scripts ( we could make a everglades map, or a swamp map, or a rocky dry map, or a midwinter map, etc etc)
Argh this is getting long, no on to the terrain part.
As i've said before in other threads, we should have many many terrains and many many different versions of these terrains.
Like:
Grass 2- short
grass2- long
grass2- muddy
grass2- dry
grass2- crusty
and so on through all the terrains like grass 1 grass 3 dirt 1.
BTW ( please include totaly new terrains too )
