Here are some of the following misconceptions from the AoM dev's, and before you say "Shut up, its just a game, it doesn't have to make sense", let me say "Shut up stupid git!"..
1. Greek myth descibed kronos as being the father of the gods, and the lord of the titans. However the titans portrait looks nothing like his sons (zues, hades, posieden), this obviously implys that Kronos was decieved by his brides who were having an affair, or his semen mutated upon conception.
2. If for #1 you said that his appearance was due to the fact that he had been locked underground for millenia upon millenia, then why do Oranos and Giai still have peachy white skin? The other 3 civilizations all fit in together (eggy myth descibes Ra as being a big chicken, and set as being a fox/hienna type being), was Kronos just the ugly duckling of the family..
3. Loki is described as being the prankster in norse mythology. He was a slender man-shaped being who dressed like a king and would trick people into doing things against there will. His AoM portrait shows him as being a nasty guy with a horned helmet, one that you would never socialize with..
4. Eggy pharohs were the kings of there civilization. They would on occasion travel to the battle field to give support to the troops, but like modern royalty, he was often perched in his throne room, there is no way that a pharoh would up it and stop in on every battle, let alone without 1000 armed guards...
4. Egyption laborers spent 100's of years building pyramids as slaves, hauling large rocks across distances of over 1000 kilometers. You'd think they would be more efficient workers than there greek/norse counter parts who had it pretty easy goings..
5. Throwing axemen are totally inconvievable.
Archers: a quiver of arrows is nothing mythical.
Slingers: a bag of pelts is nothing special.
Cavalry javalin throwers: still not that big of a stretch.
But honestly.. the idea of carrying around 500 axes on your back, or even more than 1 is totally ridiculas.
6. Posieden was first and foremost the god of water, and hera was more involved with horses than any other god, however with the exception of the argo and his naval scout, you'd never know it. No naval improvements what-so-ever, and Hera doesn't even give you any cavalry improvements.
7. Hades was the god of the underworld. All lost souls, good or evil, went to him, and he would then decide whether to keep them in his burning realm, or send them to a nicer place. The greeks considered him to be a shadow being, even amoung gods he would not take a form.. especially not some queer looking moron who can't grow decent facial hair and wears ridiculas helms that looks like they just came off of Isebella Versatchi.
8. Odin is dead
9. Midgard was the central realm of the norse, and while it is unknown where they considered it on our current map, it was in the center of there landmass, not on an island.. DUH!
10. Jortenheim was a city
