I think that the experts who play this game need to take note. If a player is not as good as you are it doesnt mean hes a Rook. If you play in the 1600s in AoT it doesnt mean your a rook. Ive played lots of people in the 1600s who are very decent players. Maybe not experts but defintly not rooks.
Lots of players have been playing this game for over a year and maybe they dont have the skill and talent that most experts do, but they are very knowlegeable about the game. Hell ive played players that i can beat anyday with my fav civ, but they know more about the upgrades and different civs then I do.
I heard an expert say in one of the fourms that 95% of the people who play this game are rooks. I think that some of the victorys and being in the top 10 has gone to this players head. He just basicaly insulted the whole aom community. On the other hand this player quit playing Rated because its to competitive for him.
Dont get me wrong I can tell when someone is kidding around calling people rooks and stuff, hell i do it from time to time. But all in good fun. Fact is if you were to call me a rook seriously i would take it as an insult like many of the decent players who post on these fourms.
Experts respect the fact that there are inters who play this game we are not rooks.
Another thing ive heard experts say is that anyone who isnt an expert shouldnt have the right to say whats op or not. This simply is not true. It doesnt take an expert to notice something is overpowered or not. Even real rooks can detect these things. Point is Ive said that alanitians were overpowered before the game was even released when i was playing a beta version. And they are, and as ive said from the begining they did it on purpose to sell the expack.
To be honest I quit playing the alanitans because i find them boring to play. To easy to beat someone whos 50 points better then you with anyother civ. Im 1750 easy with oranos or Kronos, but i enjoy the challenge of beating eggy or alanita with a Norse civ. So thats what im going to play even if its in the 1600s. I enjoy the game more playing that way.
I was reading on one fourm where a bunch of experts were saying theyve had it with AoT and are leaving AoT AoM is dead. I laughed at that cuz today alot of those experts are coming back. And on top of that Ive never seen this many people on ESO yet. This game is getting more popular all the time and its one of the most fun RTS games out there.
