we all know its your gold wood and food,

but between population and upgrades? what really would decide a game? i beaten back opponants who had map control and it was like 3 TC to 1, but they were in classical and i was in heroic with better units and more upgrade (after game stats)

but in a sense you can still overwhelm an enemy even with less upgrades just flood his base with constant attacks.

i think ultimately between 2 even players upgrades make the defference upgrades and tecnology, meaning the players current age. i mean thats what makes egptians so strong right? FH.

But just as the smoke cleared, a red cloak of silk burnt and battle worn blew past the fire, and from the buring embers of the catapault Sir Grayhorn emerged, Jalmal's Bain still strongly grasped in his right hand and his kite shield lined with steel pierced with arrows held high in his left. The hero had endured.

The only reason to FH would be for either GPs or Heroic Age Units. NOT for upgrades - they could take too long to get anyway with your poor economy (after FH)

A person with 6 barracks that are forward built is gonna beat an equal player with only 2 or 3 barracks just in front of his base.

Makes the difference is scouting, and predicting what they are gonna do. That and smart micro on the battlefield. I can get techs and population limit versus gain down into the pattern of all the other stuff, it is scouting and knowing what is up for counter units and prevention.
