You must enable the option to rotate things from the options menu in the game.

You have to mod one of your files, I think there is a download of it. It's not a good idea though, the game was designed to disable that in order to make pathfinding easier.
the wheel rotates the map, not buildings. There are mods that do this in game.

You're not meant to rotate buildings in-game. It was taken out for a reason.

hmmmm, ive got a rec game of sum1 who made like a ring of longhouses all pointing inwards, and it was an online game, an i dont know how to do it
the 'rotate camera' option just allows you to, guess what, 'rotate the camera' using the mousewheel, or keys, but does not let you rotate the building by itself, i think....

Why? All the people I know have added the line in their files to make them rotateable. It doesn't really make any difference to the pathing, and you can make buildings look cooler. What's the problem? Add this line to your Game.con (located in "<My Documents>\My Games\Age of Mythology\Startup" folder for The Titans, or <AOM Directory>\Startup" for AOM Original):
Then, to rotate buildings, press and hold shift and rotate the mouse wheel and then place the foundation in whatever angle you want.

ok, ty for the advice, but a couple of things
1) iv'e got game.con and gamex.con (the latter obviously referin to the titans) in my game directory (not 'my games'), so which do i change, or both?
2) how the hell do i open the damn thing?

WOW, i dont believe i fixed it on my own, well almost...... i shud believe coz i am amazin...... but nvm for now.....
neway, the line: map("shift-mousez", "building", "uiWheelRotatePlacedUnit") already exists but has // in front of it, which i can only assume makes it not work (this is the same as the scripts for the original). so, just delete the //, save it, an u can rotate buildings with the mouse wheel
so, y was it taken out, wots the problem????

I used this in vanilla for awhile, it does allow you to ring buildings in a more defensive formation, but i was told it can cause OOS problems. never really seemed to help much anyway.

oooo OOS errors piss me off bad anything seems to be able to cause them really, slightly above average oxygen to CO2 ratio in the air seems to be a bad one, also, once last spring the grass seemed much more green than usual, man, i had no chance of playin online
bottom line: OOS errors suck ass
