With the current system in place, there is a problem that when a player is at his pop limit, and has 2-pop units (hoplites, tox, whatever) queued up in lots of buildings, as soon as a unit dies the space is immediately filled up with a new 2-pop unit. If he is also trying to build a hydra, or a petrobolos (which both take more than 2 pop), it might (and in my games, usually does) take a long time to actually get one out, because as soon as a unit dies, it is immediately replaced with a cheaper 2-pop unit, and units rarely die simultaneously. Even if they did, you usually have more than 1 barrack/archery range/longhouse. While this is nothing major, it can still be very annoying to go through all your mil. buildings to cancel all units, when you suddenly need a high-pop unit (like when an opponent build a tc over "your" settlement and has his army there). My proposal is to change the system so that the first unit to be built is the one that was queued first, so even if my pop is 138/140, I would still be able to get a petrobolos out when 1 unit dies instead of having that open pop filled by 1 tox or other worthless unit. I think such a change would be very easy to implement, and save some people a lot of trouble. What do you say?
