Is there a way to determine how many of each unit that I have? I want a way to know when I have reached a certain number of villagers/laborers etc.

hover your mouse over the different resource amounts to see how many you have on each resource. there is also a program you can get but i dont have it so i cant help you there

ehhhhhh..well of coarse when youve reached the villy limit youll know how much you have,but otherwise i suggest you just count.

i think using outside programs is illegal though.

Yup, the villy resource stat display is totally cool to use. Won't tell you how many trade units you have though.
