[Quoted from an encyclopedia. My free translation]
"The ancient Egyptiabs admired the snakes, and especially the poisonous cobra.
Giant snakes, some have wings and legs, some have multiple heads, are common in the Egyptian mythology. Many of them can be seen in the royal tombs in Loxor.
One of them is the giant snake Apopus, which symbolized the hostile forces to humans. In some paintings, Apopus apears as a convoluted snake, blocking Pharaoh's way to the afterlife.
The royal cobra, or the Uraeus, is the most distinct symbol of the Pharaohs. The cobra is the eye of the sun, it's related ot the godess Wadjit. The cobra spreads destruction and capable of spitting fire, but the cobra is the Pharaoh's ally, who defends them from humans and gods. The Uraeus appears on many ancient Egyptian crowns....

My question is: will there be giant snakes as Egyptian MUs in AoM?
Will there be winged flying snakes?

Snakes? Probably.

Winged flying snakes? Probably not.

Different kinds of snakes? 50-50 chance, but probably no...who knows though...snakes would be cool.

The same way you fight with Chimeras, Medusas, Fire giants...

j/k. I didn't mean regular snakes it's hard to fight with, but I meant giant snakes from the Egyptian mythology. Maybe they'll breathe fire, and maybe they'll have a special "poison attack" (attacked unit loses h/ps after he was biten by a snake bite him, for a limited time).

I could see some snake MU's. They would look great with the bang engine.

Snakes would make a really cool mythical unit as well as a great unit for scenarios. Flying snakes make me shiver... just like anubites...

Snakes would be cool.
The pharoah was meant to have some form ofconnection to an asp, but I've forgotten it. Maybe pharoahs can pay a bit of favour (about 15) to summon a snake but you can only have 1 at a time.

Yeah! Snake would be totally awesome! I wonder why they haven't had one yet for the Egyptian, because they're well-known for keeping poisonous snakes, particularly the cobras. In the ES new Myth Units poll (jan/17/02), the Wadjet was listed as one of the choices - I guess ES are planning on having them slithering snakes in AOM . Cool!

Btw, Last Knight, could u give me the link to that Mythology Encyclopedia site? I want to check it out, 'cause it sounds pretty neat

Alexandergreat3: it's taken from an Encyclopedia in Hebrew about the wildlife of Israel. I don't know if they have a website.
