Note: Internal reports suggest unlocking this feature for RM games will increase the likelihood of causing OOSes and creating pathing problems. I wouldn't recommend using it for rated games.
That said, I've not played many multiplayer games personally with this feature enabled. I'll be interested to see if it has any affect on gameplay.
Even on rotated objects, building obstructions are still generated on a rectangular basis, so, other than pure aesthetic fun, it probably won't change the way your game playes too much. What it's more likely to do, is create the 'impression' that units can move through a gap between buildings and then frustrate you when they cannot.
