for the person that said (i think its mjolinir) 'you can win playing defensively by building a wonder' ..sure! if thats how you like winning more power to you.
for the person that said 10 vs 10 in the editor (not sure about this cause i dont spend much time in the editor but isnt that classical units vs. calssical units?) ulfs dont get their 2x cav bonus until heroic (and u go bragi) so why dont u test that out and tell me what the outcome is!
ekanta, everyone is entitled to their oppinion about the game. and what they like and dont like. I'll admit i hate facing Isis players, but you know why? there's only one bloddy thing I find rediculous about that civ...and thats the god power blocking. someone must of been smoking some big trees when they thought of that! its fine to have that bonus, but make it have to be researched at like heroic or mythic! one of my fav strats when playing islands is to take freyja and burn usally 30% of the opponents wood resource. that gives me such an upper hand since eggy needs plenty of wood to fight naval battles.
other then the god blocking her bonuses can be dealt with.
someone mentioned something about elephants vs. jarls..Ok first of all i woould NEVER send my jarls in vs. elephants! lol i would send my cheap ulfs..and they would deal with them..elephants are slow as hell and not as versatile as the jarl and the jarl is RESSOURCE FREINDLY unlike the fat elephants . yea elephants are strong and if ur not able enough to raid properly thus leaving the isis player mass up ressources a spammed elephant army will rip u apart..but its easy to keep the players ressources low by constantly attacking and raiding gold.
for the Egyp. Mercs: geez those are the stupid things..4- sec life span or something! they are for times of dire need when ur town is being ripped apart, u have no military buildings and you wont give up so u pump out mercs from ur TC.. yea they're strong but again they just keep you from losing at 23mins to 26mins33secs...again i dont see how that makes a civ OP.
someone mentioned about the oxcarts and made some good points about it dying and then ur villies are idle..well your villies arent idle they will just walk (probably) a long distance to next drop site..sometimes its far sometimes if ur lucky its close but think about the amount of time ur villies spent almost no time walking during the whole game as opposed to ur eggy opp and greek opp that have to chop wood walk a mile chop again repeat until u micro it (which late game u dont usually have time to do).
overall, oxcarts win vs built drop sites.
