I see people complaining about not enough FFA. I wont go into that since theres already a thread, but i would like to point out something i realized...
Some people, seeking a highly diplomatic game, unlock teams and do free-for-all, so that people freely make their own alliances. Actually these games turn out to be a dud becasue nearly everyone ends up allying and ganging up on 1 or 2 people. It DOES NOT accurately represent diplomacy.
The better thing to do is leave teams locked. Diplomacy is still a major part of gameplay, if not more than with unlocked teams. If you know anything about history you will know that cities or empires, even if allied, were not all that friendly towards one another. Alliances were made temporary and often they betrayed each other. It also eliminates the factor of ganging up, if you find yourself doubled there is a good chance the two attackers will start fighting each other.
If you try it out you will find that leaving teams locked is a lot more fun.
I told you I'd be back.
