I was just wondering what people thought was the best progression from the game before it. I think it is AoK to AoM. What about you?...

I don't think there's that much difference in progression between AOK and AOM, I think AOM was more of a refinement of AOK.

Acutally I think AOK - AOM was an "unimprovement" (ie, IMO AOK>AOM

Not sure of that... I used to be fanatic of Aok... not saying i was very good but i loved the game. I used to beat 4 max ai. I fully played it until a short time ago when i discovered aom. So i think you cant say i just got bored. The fact is since i bought aom... about 2 months ago i do not know where the heck i left my aok cd... and i dont really care

I actually think the biggest progression was from AoE to AoK. It was clear that there was a lot of thought put into AoK that wasn't there for AoE--civs were far more balanced, the campaigns were much more in-depth and were based on historical campaigns, et cetera. I haven't played AoE/RoR in many, many years, even for old time's sake (which I still do for AoC). I don't think that AoM was so much a refinement of AoK so much as AoM took the Age franchise in a totally different direction--which was totally cool. It's definitely an evolution.
