I asked this same question about Rise of Nations on the RON Heaven board.
I am considering buying Age of Mythology, and was wondering if it could be played on a LAN...with one other person...without buying two copies of the game?
Basically, I want to know if the game will detect a duplicate CD Key, or if it will let you use the same CD Key on both PCs.
I read somewhere that Age of Empires will allow you to play on a LAN with duplicate CD Keys, but Age of Mythology is newer, and might not work the same way.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks

I've done it with both Vanilla and Titans on AoM with no problem also.

Quoted from Skoobings:

I had heard that too, but we play at work fairly regularly, and have had up to 11 people play on 1 CD key. (Note that this kind of playing at work has increased local AOM+TT purchases by at least 5 people. It's not that we don't have the CDs, but that it's convenient to just mass-install from one known-good set.)
