ok so... i have amac, and when i hit "online" for multiplayer it told me to install gameranger, which i did...I can now play against other people, but are these games rated in any way?

The "quick setup" games are rated. The "advanced setup" games are non-rated. For your first ten games, for the quick setup you can rate yourself as a Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced, to try and find opponents closer to your level. Each game will affect your rating, up or down, and playing a 'quick setup' game, eso will always try to find opponents near your current level.

playing online is da bomb and you'll probably get your butt kicked at first. It can be very addictive and it feels really good when you get better and start winning some games.
