Ok, so we play AoM:TT amongst ourselves in the office during lunch. And recently, we've come across 500-handicap lightning games. For sanity's sake, we've taken to playing 1v1v1v1 King of the Hill.

Yes, we know this is silly, no, we don't take it too seriously.

However, there has been a problem: Helios. Since you have more resources than you can shake a stick at, FU fire siphons seem to be *awesome* as seige, and don't go down easy -- ten fire siphons plus related support is good enough to raise an entire base before someone can react.

Add in vortex, where you can either take the hill at the last minute, or get your entire army into the middle of the enemy base, and it becomes difficult/impossible to try to hold the hill until any Helios player has used up all three vortexes.

So, how to handle this? What's the best way to wax fire siphons? And how do you handle up to three vortexes per Helios player?

Its VERY* hard to make enuf palaces to train them in adauquate time. They have very slow training time, cost 5 pop, and a good number of resources. Even with 19 hack armor w/ tech, many units will make short work of them since their have 3-18(?) range which FORCES them to move close to their target. I used to play kronos and go helios all the time but found out a major flaw in vortex. It trainsport all ur units to one location ( no titan ) leaving w/ no defenses. It also causes MAJOR pathing problems. With u got all ur military in one spot fire, archers/siege may end up in front! w/ ur meat sheild in the center. In a very tightly fortifided base, its VERY hard to move ur units around. Getting to point A to point B while vortex is cooling down is difficult while siphons r slowing them down.
