Egypt favor generation is slow. You can react by erecting more monuments as quickly as you can, but still waiting until you have 10-15 anubites will last way too long, as your opponent will not give you peace during that time.
Eggy rushing is quite a viable tactics, although FHing ist way more popular. It might especially be a viable tactics against Atlantean, because Atl inf counters in classical age are rather weak and expensive, train slow and are also countered by spearmen.
Against the other races, take care of infantry counters. All of them have ones that are highly effective. You should definitely consider mixing in axemen. They are only slightly weaker than spearmen but will deal with enemy infantry. You need to remember that from all mainline infantry types in the game, spearmen are the weakest. Ulfs, hoplites, and murmillos would defeat your spearmen without even being a dedicted inf counter. Needless to say that a good opponent will add tox, TA, and axemen once he sees your unit composition.
Anubites excel in villager raiding due to their speed and jumping special. They are not that awesome in major battles, especially since the enemy will usually have some heroes there. Making anubites early is definitely a good idea, but they are better used for hit-and-run tactics against enemy gathering sites, running for their life when defenders appear and jumping back in when the defenders are gone.
