Food Please, Gold Please, Wood Please When used in Age of Empires The Computer opponent used to reply "I have no food" or used to give food/gold as we request them. But in AOM I found the Allies do not respond to our chat command.
When I signal when attacked by opponent. My partner never come to rescue me. It was better in Age of Empires atleast in terms of Allies communication.
Also when I said 10 times "Attack an enemy now" My ally computer did not do any thing.
These things were better in Age of Empires I do not understand why in AOM allies do not respond to requests.
If there is any Settings I have to rectify let me know.
Also I do not understand the meaning of
1. Balanced 2. Boomer 3. Random 4. Aggresive Rusher etc.
I didn't know those commands worked in AOE O_o. I thought they only worked in AOE2!
Anyway, no, they do not work in AOM. Hard computers will play as close to a human as you can get anyway - they will defend you and attack etc., although not exactly when you'd want sometimes.

What should be the best?
This is the play style of the computer player. Random is normally best (if you're trying to mimick a real player as much as possible) - Balanced is just "normal", Boomer means the AI will boom and make a large economy, Aggressive Rusher will attack you early and often (read the descriptions of each to learn more).

computers never mimic humans except for the starting BO, lol. when they attack, they go for the first thing that threatens them. they don't forward build, almost never claims forward tcs, rarely retreat, and doesn't raid your economy unless they see it.

I swear one time this hard kronos computer was possed by a demon or something. It using strats raiding, timeshifting, retreating and doing what human players do. I actually almost lost to a hard computer

I think the chats must do something, but whenever I clicked "stone please" in AoK the computer does nothing, not even saying "I cannot spare stone right now". But then again I was playing my own editor scenario with "none" as personnality. If I set "standard" will the AoK AI respond?
Because I didn't know that the AoK AI could respond, the AoM AI didn't surprise me. I finally got my ally to give me resources- but in AoE3.

Yeah i noticed that they didnt respond when i asked them for stuff, like clicking food please, gold please, wood please. I reasoned "Well, they're just a dumb AI. They're not made to read stuff." I was surprised to hear that you could do that with any game. But yeah it doesn't work in AOM.
a_game_a_win, what's really surprised/ startled me about ur post is that I USUALLY loose to a hard AI... well maybe not anymore because I was playing AOE3 online and got way better at the general genre and then i switched back to aom but went online with it for 1st time. SO maybe I'm not as lame as i previously stated, but u'd still pwn me...

if they do raid you just send the villiger to the other side of the map, they'll follow until they kill it or when something else attacks them. that should buy you some time for whatever you need to do. otherwise just lead them into your tc.

Yes, in Age of Empires II computer used to donate food, gold etc when asked. And also say in Reply "Sorry I do not have any" when they were in shortage.
And also you could ask "Give your extra resources" and it would give all unused resources.
It makes the game quite strong when we share our resources when in need.
It's pretty easy to do in custom maps. Just use a trigger, with condition "Chat Contains". Enter "Food Please" in the box, and set it to player 1. Make an effect, "Tribute", and enter 500 food from the ally to player 1. Then it will grant 500 food to player 1 when it asks for it.
I guess it woudln't be too hard to program into a custom AI, but I don't know anything about AI Scripting...

But what if it doesn't have 500 food? Is there an condition that checks resources?

So what do you think happened to me? They don't even say "Sorry, I don't have enough".
This reminds me, when I played a pre-made scenario in the AoK trial version, the computer said that he would be my ally if I give him 200 of each resource. Do you think I can ask a computer to be my ally?

No, that is the bad part.
You could use "Grant Resources" instead with a chat saying that that player sent you 500 food.

AoM does not have a resource condition? I thought it did, or I could be confusing it with Starcraft or some other game.

I don't remember seeing it in the conditions list either. Thanks for letting us know.
