Eh, this isn't the first time I have risen his blood pressure.
Start a topic about how lame Isis is
Lol that is no fun, because everyone will say yes and have the same reason .Quoted from DeathAndPain :
But you can compare the effects, which means that a Locust Swarm can wipe out almost all of your gold income in no time by killing all the gold gatherers.
It is just as well no one is so newb as to put all their gold vills/dwarfs on one gold mine, right DeathandPain?
Quoted from DeathAndPain :
at a later stage, leveling a whole base of several FU hill forts and longhouses with a single Earthquake power!
Are you sure? If they are FU, than they Hill forts should have a bit of HP left, right? But, earthquake is a mythic god power, and that is to be expected. I think the only effective way to compare the Frost and Flaming weapon GPs is by comparing them to other heroic age godpowers.
Quoted from DeathAndPain:
Now factor in that ragnarok also destroys most of the Norse economy, and I do not see that Rag+FW would be op compared to the GPs of other races.
"When used correctly," yes, there is a downside to Ragnarok, but most times when you cast it, you do not cast it to save yourself, and you cast it when you have a good eco and lots of vills. The economy dying doesn't really matter if you are going to win the game with a wonder titan/flaming weapons. Also remember that Thor gets extra armoury ups, bringing his Ragnarok heroes to a colossal 60% pierce/hack armour, and 19 attack. Right? <- That is from memory. Add flaming weapons, and your heroes are nearly the best unit in the game for a few seconds, all 80 of them! When you use these God Powers right, I would say they are easily one of the best combos in the game.Quoted from DeathAndPain :
Assumed that these have no bonuses, yes. But that assumption is wrong. Odin does not need the chance to research better armory ups; he has better hill fort units by default and does not even need to pay for them. He also has awesome recon thx to ravens as well as free army regeneration. Loki is a rush god and can and must take his chance to kill Thor before the later ages.
Mmmmmmm, More HP is nice, but cheaper armoury upgrades is nicer, meaning you save resources and get them earlier. Now, if it is a Norse vs Norse battle, the Jarls and Huskarls become next to useless, right? Though the extra HP on seige is nice. The army generation is next to useless, maybe gaining you 20 hp max if all your army is idle for 30 seconds? <- around that time. Seems like a big time, and the ravens become gradually next to useless as well. So, Loki gets really weak lategame, Odin weak early game and ok heroic age, Thor keeps getting better as he advances, because all his bonuses are useful, and continue to be valuable as the game continues. Quoted from DeathAndPain :
Odin gets the better hunting rate for free, and as early as the game begins. His GP makes sure he can also make use out of it.
Yes, and on low hunt maps, Odin does not get that power, while Thor can choose not to research pig sticker. Meaning that Thor is one innate bonus ahead of Odin. . Cheaper dwarves that collect more and cheaper armoury ups are good on any map, while faster hunting is not. However, on high hunting maps, Odin gets the immediate bonus, while Thor can make up for this with his Pig Sticker. Making Odin's bonus not such a big deal. (Yes, one hundred gold is alot, but you won't be using the 100 gold straight away, so its kind of like using idle resources. Now, lets say the Odin makes 5 dwarves, and you make 5 as well, and come advancement, you have made up for 50 of this gold because your dwarves are cheaper, and as the game advances you will eventually make up for this). <- Lol, a bit of crappy logic by me, but it's true! This is more of Thor's bonuses kept on being used, because Loki and Odin will stop using their cheaper ox carts/hunting bonus at a certain stage of the game, while Thor basically not stop using his dwarf advantage.Quoted from DeathAndPain :
You must compare whole gods, not single traits.
Hmmmm? Does not really make sense.
Quoted from DeathAndPain :
Any civ can do it, although you need to invest a vill for that purpose. Comes with not being a Norse, with all the advantages and disadvantages related to that, and has nothing to do with Thor.
Well, a Greek/Egyptian/Atlantean villiger doing hunt delete is really really stupid, not causing it to be lame, but just hilarious. Like, I would love to see a Gaia player try hunt delete me with a Citizen. (That is when why know Gaia has hit rock bottom as an option for a viable god to play ). But Norse do it rather easy, yes, they need to make 2 ulfsarks, but you will screw up their eco so much you can afford to do it! While Thor is not the only god Norse god that is able, he is still able to do it, and when you do this + have all of Thors normal bonuses it works out quite well. This is the same for wall hacking.Quoted from DeathAndPain :
But for some weird reason, he loses to multiple other gods in 1v1 when played at equal skill. Something must be wrong with your reasoning...
Big assumption.
