I remember a while back, sum1 from ES saying that you wouldn't have the typical start, like you did in AoK, with 2 boars, 8 sheep, etc. I really hope you don't do this, although it probley will be done, as I liked being able to practice, and use the same strat often.

what are your thoughts?

I like the idea of different starts... I liked the fact you get different starts in SW:GB demo. However, I hope there will be at least one Random map with more-or-less "typical start".

I think and hope that it will always be different!

ES said they would randomize starting conditions. Sounds good to me.

I hope they do what LucasArts did. Having randomity...like you can start without sheeps or without berries. It forces you to think and not just click.

I hope it's random too. One of those things theat EE does well.

Maybe make the maps slightly more varied than aok, then, if you don't want to have a "typical start", then select blind random!

I don't mind as long as it's fair, being reliant on skill rather than luck.

i kinda like the way it was. i like to be able to practice a certain strat and always have it work (well, pretty much have it work, maybe a boar, or deer out of place, but you get the idea) but whatever ES wants to do, i trust that they will do it well, and make it fun.

I have a feeling that one will see a bit more of the land in AoM when you start than in the previous games. Having to scout a lot early on is also something that ES knows that a lot of players dislike. So with that as a little helper it might be great to have more randomised starts as it comes to nearby resources. Without it there would be a risk of making it too difficult for the more casual gamers.
