Hi, I play the Egyptians mostly and I was wandering what you guys think about obelisks cause I reckon they're pretty gay because there weak and a waist of gold (and you need that gold esp. when you play supremacy ). But I always see people and computers use them . So I was wandering what you guys think.
They r good if placed around the enemy base so u can see what they r doing. I also like to place them in the middle to see if im going to be attacked and around tc's so i can stop him form making them.
Almost only option for Isis to scout early on, and useful for Set and Ra to do. Its good for los and big bonus for Egyptian civ, the only bad thing is that 15 gold is very costly for you early, (when you expect to use them to scout up) but later on the cost is negligable. Isis obelisks are a bargain. . Also by getting the los upgrades, the signal fires and birdy one from tower, gives them huge los to keep watch on your enemy .
"The next turn I attacked those that had been attatched, fiendishly fracturing the friendly faction fraction" -Wartrain.
"Why not do the exciting thing and sit back, boom to a rag and use flaming weapons? - Who would have thought a Thor player could show this level of innovation?" -Vagabond Tom.

If playing Isis they are extremely cheap, so you should use your priest to place them everywhere on the map.
With the other two, you'll build less of them, set can use animals to scout and ra gets by with pharaoh until classic. You can still use 1 or 2 of them in key areas to take advantage of their big LOS, next to unclaimed settlements or gold mines for example.
Sometimes you need to scare the lambs, tell tales of evil bad wolves. Because if there is nothing to fear, they might think for themselves.

I don't use them either lol, but if people like Cloud/Skipper use them you probably should.
Jelani does neither btw, he just runs his priest through the map like me and starts with them when he has excess gold.

there kinda annoying too, becasue they have such big los, you might see the opponet coming, but you dont see the oblisk
I place them reight after each other a short ditance away so I don't have to watch them build they do it on their own.and make opponet fallow them till they meet with your army.
