In the Archaic I go and put 2 vils to a temple, and 2 vils to another temple, while putting the rest on building their own houses. I advance ASAP and then put 1 vil on claiming the near TC, lay down 5-7 Archery Ranges and 4-5 Academies. I squeeze an armoury somewhere in there and make another villy. As soon as the armory is done I advance to Heroic and make a market and lay down about 5-7 fortresses in good places (AKA possible enemy attack routes, near questionable settlements, ect..) and go Mythic pretty quickly. After that I start AQ villys from all TC and spam Gastraphetes and Hyps vs norse and Zues, hops vs. anything else. The best god path to use is Ares/Appolo/Hephaestus, or that's what I use, anyway. This strat is very good against a Zeus or Loki player, as it allows you to spam archers that are good at knocking down buildings and massed infantry (which is where those hyps help out a bit).
Feel free to poke holes all over this, I plan to put a recorded game up. Any advice Hades vs. Hades DM?
Also, in a RM, while playing norse against a Turtling enemy, how do you get rid of them (if you didn't do good enough raiding and they walled themself already)? Do you try to pull a FH or FM to get portable rams/huskarls with Bravery? Or something else? And what to do about those Roc drop seiges... just mass TA with Axe of Muspell I guess.. right?
Also, what's a good pop to age advance to classical with norse? I usually go for about 25-28 with 2 ulfsarks..
Any advice is welcome. =D
