Scout would be killed almost instantly by TC. He should be searching for relics (& other resouces) & the hero should be retrieving them, while youre building a decent economy & advancing

Raiding does not mean attacking villies that are gathering within TC range.
Raiding is attack villies outside TC range, forcing them to gather within TC range.
At this very early stage of the game i would imagine that would be hunters, possibly cutters, and less likely miners.
This strat can be helpful. It will really just be a little bump in your opponents advance time, but thats what you want and it can help give you the early edge. If you find a hunting party of 6+, dont try cause they can quickly fight it off. I think the best use of this strat would be if you can catch a ulf building a temple at about 70% built. It is then late and costly for him to delete and replace it and that time and resources are wasted. It can be hard to find the ulf in this ~30 second building time though.

I'd send pegasi as decoys and let both the scout and hero attack. pull out the scout if it's almost dead:he can't be replaced. the hero can.

You plan on making pegasi for 50 food each in archaic age. Awesome idea...
Quoted from havoc 55:
Raiding is attack villies outside TC range, forcing them to gather within TC range.
But since even a single vill wins hands down against your kataskopos, it will not work. You can attempt a harass tactics so that your enemy must micro his vill, but you will have to invest the same amount of micro into your kataskopos, so you do not really win much. You gain more from using your kataskopos for what he was meant to be used for: Scout the map and gather information about its layout.
Harassing ulfs is better though. Archaic ulfs have only 3 attack (while vills have 8), so your kata will not die quickly to an ulf, but ulfs are scarce in archaic age, and you can really delay a temple (or a dock) for a considerable amount of time.
Archaic raiding with your Greek hero can make sense, but this depends on map and opposing god.
