I don't see thor rush so I don't see forward builds with thor.
Thor's lazy build order:
2 dwarves dwarven mine
research hunting dogs
research pig sticker, get 1 favor quickly with second vil to hunt by shooting one arrow at a couple of animals w/o killing them.
7 vils hunt
dwarf to dwarven mine
Vil wood
oxcart wood
vil to wood
a mix of 3 more vils or dwarf to wood depending on food restrictions.
oxcart to gold
2 dwarf to gold, more or less
Advance.
Imo it's the simplest build order in the game. You can make a few variations as you see fit, such as 5 or 6 to hunt at first and more later, less vils/dwarfs all around for earlier advance, etc.
Freyja roxor when you raid. RC are really good units and looking at a heavy line upgraded freyja upgrade w/ good armory ups you can trust RC to even be a better choice than jarls as a main unit later on. Valkeries are one of the best myth meatshield units and have a tendacy to stay alive- high armor, hitpoints, and speed. When dealing with people in classic, a game winning effect is when alot of TA/Toxote/ranged unit attack the high armor valkerie instead of human units. I see it alot in norse wars.
Forest fire can end a game- practice raids and get that one good raid that traps the vils at the wood with RC and watch forest fire kill 6 vils. Freyja is a very common choice, helps raiding and myth upgrade helps throughout whole game very well.
Forsetti is chosen much less, but in some norse wars defending against rushes a defensive healing spring and trolls can help. The ulfsark hack armor up is a nice small benefit to late game ulfs- hopefully you'll be taking at least bragi if not Tyr(or is it baldr?) too for uber ulfs.
That's a good start. Get a water build order from someone so you never lose on medi.
