Have any of you noticed a glitch on the ESO servers lately? When I go to quick setup there is just an "E" there. None of the normal writing. This is on The Titans. I don't know about normal AoM. Can someone check normal AoM?
Does anybody know what it used to say there?

Thank you DaP for correcting me before i even said what my idea was... You wont like it anyway. It had nothing to do with my own server.

I take it you are thinking about a 24/7 Direct IP server then? Is there really any point in that with regard to the fact that only few players can connect to it at a given time? Is there even a decent chat system in DirectIP before the game has started? Hell, I have not used DirectIP for years. But you are right, without a ladder I would not really like such an approach. A free (independently-run) ESO server would be the ultimate solution, but we will most likely never see it.

Well my idea is...
1. We send a e-mail to ES concerning there servers for aot and how long they wish to keep them for aot or how long they want to keep them up. 2. If they say soon we will we... offer them to send them the monthly fee of $14 dollars to keep aot running. 3. everybody stays happy

Hahaha!!!!
They will probably require much more than the 14$ ; they must pay those "customer support" people who don't even do their job and get a good salary.

ESO servers are going to be taken offline for Age of Mythology and The Titans on 1/30/07 starting at 14:00 GMT(9:00am CST). Server down time is expected to be about 2 hours. We thank you for your patience as we perform this maintenance work.
Don't get your hopes up. I do believe the maintanence is for Age of Empires III, and Age of Mythology will recieve no real update. That's what they were saying on the AoE3 site, anyhow.

they do maintenance to the servers every few months or so, so i am afraid we cannot expect a new patch. I know this might sound noobish, but how about if som1 ( like Papaya or so) wrote a letter to microsoft/ES and explained all chit and that we want to upload the patch DaP and magnum made , so we get our long awaited update , and we all sign that letter. I mean individual actions will not achieve anything, but if we do something like a community... Please don't flame me for this, its just an idea.

well the patch wasn't perfect but i still think DaP and magnum did a good job. However the so called "experts" at agesanctuary are not doing anything then flaming the work of DaP and magnum while they are not doing anything themselfes. I do not think we need help from those "experts" We can created a thread to discuss any prefered changes to the patch tough.

It isn't perfect and is far form perfect, and lets hope if ES does a patch, they do a far better job.

Did you even tried to understand the issue general? ES will not create a patch anymore cuz they don't care about aom. The patch DaP and Magnum made isn't perfect but its a good start and since you did not do anything about the problem of inbalance but saying it isn't good i think you do not even have the right to say anything about this. At least DaP and Magnum did something which we all should appreciate! I agree that ES could create a better patch but only because they created the game, so they can change a lot more in the game files then we can. Besided that we can do it as good as they can, and since they won't release a new patch i think we should create one. I also stated that we should create a new thread where we can discuss any changes every1 would like to see, but the orginal Magnum/DaP patch is a good basic patch to start with. So next time read properly and think before you speak. Thanks in advance.

Actually in my opinion the current gameplay is better than the one with the patch.

I wouldn't say it's "better", but there are distinct differences that render some strategies less effective and others (*cough*mass-Hetaroi*cough*) much more viable.
But it's all in the eyes of the beholder.

P.S. Did the Magnum Pi patch address the fact that Hekas can throw back heroes? That created a serious problem for me yesterday, especially since I was Gaia.

Copied from my post in another thread:
It'd be great if they dedicated a few employees (or even find some programmers within the AOM community willing to work on AOM and give them the source code) to work on patches for AOM - they have done just this for Worms Armageddon and a huge number of new patches have been released prior to 2005, and a new patch is being released very soon despite no patches in the last 2 years! This would be so awesome for AOM, and obviously ES still have final say on whether a patch gets the "go ahead" or not.

Yes the DaP patch revolves around a 100% thor player (no offense) but imo i could ask the Experts for help (since i know alot of them) and then i will come back here with what they say

Quoted from empireofages:
Did you even tried to understand the issue general?
The issue of ESO being very unlikely to make a patch for AoT is obvious.
'Did I even tried to understand.' Now that isn't as easy to make sense from.
Quoted from empireofages:
and since you did not do anything about the problem of inbalance but saying it isn't good i think you do not even have the right to say anything about this.
If the balance issue is going to be made worse I will say something. Also I don't feel inclined to follow your made up little rules.

Right back at ya.
(P.S can you fix your sig? it makes the screen really wide).
@ Mythos they already asked the experts and it turns out they are flaming losers =/. Prolly best to get a handful of small experts who are reliable and willing. (P.S WNxConquest doesn't count as an expert).
