Yeah, it depends on the actual distance from the market to town center, not the distance they would walk avoiding obstacles. I made a wall maze one time, because I was bored, and they still brought in the same amount of gold.

another thing is if ur on team migration, build ur market at the end of the island and send the camel/ox/donkey/lamb to ur allis/ urs at the other end of the island, u get alot of gold but it's a long wait.

It make sense they woldn't work with sky passages because the idea is the pck up wealth as they go.

On a normal sized 1v1 map I've gotten 240+ gold per trip with my own towncenter: I had strong map control and a town center was in the bottom corner, with my market at the top.

he means that computer is so stupid it won't disrupt ur caravans but online, you'll only get a trade route getting 100 gold. even then your small trade route will be cut off by human players.
