First of all, I know you have to play to get better but I just need a little advice and questions answered please. Okay, I'm a 1637 guy who did play begginners earlier and destroy them with Thor. (~1400-1580) I played a three vs. three with some Norse guys on my team and saw that one of the more expirienced Norse players didnt have much of a starting base, but did have a huge forward base near his staer but just a little north. He had like 10 rc with 17 hersir really early and I had my rc raiding and everythiong. What I realized though is I seem to build u more of a fortressed starting base and later on, probably later than I should, build a forward base or forward bases and against higher rated guys in the 1600s win some and lose some, but end up losing more than I probably should. I usually advance and 3-4minutes I think with about 500 food or so and an okay gold and wood supply. At that point, should I go build my fb and leave no military bases back at the start zone with my eco centered around there? It seems like winning players have great map control and little military bases back with the eco but don't give you time to really attack their eco. Any advice? I wish I could explain more but it is kinda hard. i do well with Norse but what do I have to do to make winning my higher percentange of time? I worry too much about my back base I think. I think I probably need to build gfaster fbs and keep a more steady rush and raid up to make sure he can';t attack my main villiage, but still have military back to some degree. I know what I need to do to some degree but how?
