Ok so the last game I played, I was Possi(choose random all), against an Isis. I had sent in a quite large army into his base, which consisted of 13 hippokins, 5 Hetairoi 4 Hypaspists, and 10 peltasts. I killed his forward tc, surprisingly with little resistance, and then continued to march onto his main tc. But my army quickly met his halfway, and I lost my units, and he destroyed my villagers that were going to take the tc over. Now onto the main reason why I posted this topic. In his foward tc, he had some 5-7 farms(No clue why) and I didn't use my units to attack them. Would it be smart to quickly use my units to destroy the farms, seeing he might be able to use them later on if he retakes the tc, or should I not waste my time on them, and continue on?

If you use a villager to "attack" an enemy farm, it'll convert over to your side. So, build a TC over the settlement and you'll have a nice little farming town.

I'd imaging that you would want to not destroy the farms and use them, previously said. If it is his main base, however, and it is his last tc, you will either take it or he wiull resign. Probably don't want to kill farms though.

I wouldn't waste the time. Attacking them during a battle isn't good, and afterwards, it really isn't necessary. If you really dislike them, have your TC destroy them.

You might wana destroy any undefended Atlantean farms since they cost them 200 wood

I understand the concept of captturing his farms, and making them mine and such, But I was just wondering if it would be worth it to kill them, just in case later on he would have to rebuild them... Anyways, thank you for your responses, I guess I'll just leave them, and take them for myself.

What I would recommend in this situation is to leave the farms alive and use them yourself, until the enemy starts pushing back and looks like they might take the farms again. At that point, withdraw your villagers and delete the farms or kill them yourself some other way, so the enemy can't use them. Unless I misunderstand your situation and the situation in that area looks bad enough already, in which case my recommendation would be to implement a "scorched earth" policy with regards to farms and such and KILL THEM ALL!!!!!! BURN BURN BURN BURN BURN!!!!! BURN BURN BURN BURN!!!! BURN BURN BURN!!! BURN BURN!! BURN!

btw, any particular reason you made hetaroi? or peltasts? Or Hyapists? Did you know what units he had made? if so, why such a random mix of units?

As kronos, claim any unattended farms and just ts them to your base. A free atty farm is the best atty farm.

As norse the farms mean favor to u too...

In ur case, I would have built a new FB next to the empty settelment, then, the settlement ... If u had no res to build the actual TC, and/or if it was too near to his main tC, I would have killed them, to prevent what u said; him recovering the TC and farming again...

What's the point of keeping the farms alive if you have destroyed their TC? You've pretty much won anyway, don't waste time on the farms. If you destroyed the TC and got destroyed, than taking out a few farms with catapults might be worth it to hinder their economy. But, as I said, if you have taken out their TC, than you have pretty much won.

No lokiodin, he specified it was forward TC the one he destroyed.... Killing a TC doesnt win u the game, even less a forward TC...

Oh, if it was a forward TC, you might want to keep them if you plan on getting that TC.

I know that if you destroy a TC, you don't win, but if you destroy the main TC, you have pretty much won already because you have destroyed his main town and all.
