Hey guys,

It's been a really long time since I've played. I'm trying to figure out which is currently more actively played online; Age of Mythology (no upgrades) or AoM with The Titans. I tried finding out for myself, by logging in to each. They both reported about the same population, which leads me to believe it is showing the total online population for both games.

Thanks in advance for any responses. I am leaning towards just going back to the original AoM, but I don't want to get invested in that if everyone is playing Titans online.

But some people think AoM is better because of more fairer units and strats.

vanilla doesn't have much decent triggers in the editor -.-

Atlanteans can kiss my ass! Unbalanced gods & units compared to the other civics, there's not that much logic they're like greek. Expensive but high armoured units, but they also have a pretty high attack and some are fast no sense et all.. Also Kronos has some overpowered rush combos which are VERY annoying especially lightning is screwed since The Titans.

Vanilla: Good for supremacy, due to fair gods(ish)

Titans: Good for scenario designing.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

Let me try and steer the conversation back around a bit by restating that my question is about online population. I have my own thoughts on AoM with or w/o the Titans, but that's not what I was asking. I'm wondering which has a larger online population on average. I'm asking because it can be difficult to find games online, and I wanted to play whichever version has more people playing online.

Perhaps there is a stats page to see this kind of information? I tried searching for one but only found stats pages for AoE3.

EDIT: Note that I only play supremacy 1v1, standard maps.

LOL I AGREE

edit: with mpghappinesss

edit2: lol read the first reply, I looked at fropco stats and they say that there are 3x more games played in rated in TT (and that means there are aprox. 3x more players in TT)

Thanks for your replies eXcess_petrol. I did indeed read your first reply, I just wasn't sure where you got those figures from. Now I know, and thanks much.

In a related question, to those of you who play AoM vanilla online and play supremacy, are you able to regularly find matches to play? Do you find yourself having to do advanced-setup games instead? I'm not a fan of custom maps.

Thanks guys.
