Hey everybody,
Yea I know that possy isnt a very good god, but lately, Ive been pwning with possy on river civilization a lot. Hes actually a pretty OP god, cause if you combine his cheap cav with centaurs, and pwn everybody's fish ships with scylla, it's pretty much a gg (unless your allies are noobs).
Here's how you do it in 10 steps:
1. Leave one vill on starting island to build three docks for fishing.
2. Once youve found a base use all your other vills to build a tc, and queue up actions with shift+click so that one (or three if it isnt an atlantean villager) will build a temple then mine gold, one will go chop wood and the rest will go mine gold.
3. Set the garrison point of the tc as it is building on the temple.
4. When tc is built, add one vill to build queue. That vill will go mine gold.
5. When temple is built, immediately begin advancing to classical. If you do not start with full favor (as is the case on certain riv civs) let the three starting villagers stay praying at the temple. Otherwise make them mine gold.
BTW: dont forget to queue up fishing ships on your docks in the mean time.
6. Create an army using ctrl+1 of one atty vill and one greek vill. When classical is reached, press 1, then "r" (or whatever hotkey you assigned to armory) and immediately place two armories.
Have the rest of the starting villagers build a town center (along with the dock-building one which you should have picked up with your transport ship). Make villager queue from this tc go on gold and your starting villagers on wood.
7. Once first armory is built, immediately research heroic. Make the atty vill go back to whatever ressource he/she was doing, and have the greek vill build the second armory and then go back to their ressource.
BTW: make sure the vills you created between the classical and heroic age (should be two usually if you time it correctly) go to either gold or favor, depending on whether you have full favor or not.
8. In the mean time you should have stopped making fish ships at the docks once you reached 35-40 (I always try to stop at 37-38). Get the purse seine improvement too. Once heroic age has been reached you need to start pumping out scylla and siege ships asap. Make your villager queue move to wood.
9. Once you have a good navy of about 7-10 scylla and approx 10 siege ships, attack! (or defend against any idiots who dared attack a possy on sea!) Let your scylla gain a few heads by killing enemy fish ships and micro your siege ships to destroy docks. I have never seen anyone be able to get enough ram ships to counter that many scyllas in that little time (scyllas train SUPER fast).
10. Once you've taken everybody's navy out (which so far has been the case every time I've used this strategy), you can focus on land. Get the centaur upgrade at temple and just spam centaurs and a mixture of cavalry. Dont forget to get houses and more tcs asap as the navy will take up a lot of pop. Concentrate your attacks on securing inland seas or just defending your base pretty much, as it is the ultimate defense: Centaurs strong pierce attack and fast maneuverability behind a cheap (thank you possy!) meatshield of powerful cav. Note that if you really took out all the enemy fishing, you will generally be only recieving archer attacks, which are destroyed by cavalry.
Additional comments:
This strategy is easily counterable by early game rushes, so pay close attention to where everybody is heading on the map and make sure you get a nice spot by yourself, or near the protection of an ally.
This strategy can also be countered by a powerful norse boom if a norse player happens to not have had to rush until the late game, so make sure that if you use this strategy with a loki enemy, have some eggy allies nearby.
Well, thanks for reading and I hope I helped you with your possy skills. I guess this doesnt really apply to supremacy; youve probably realized by reading this guide that unlike popular belief, RC is a very different game from supremacy.

PS why dont people talk about RC that much in the strategy section? tbh RC is perhaps as strategic a gameplay as it gets, with large maps, all kinds of terrain, lots of naval and land battles, and a lot of teamwork involved. What's more its really fun and fastpaced, but not too much, like DM.
Anyways, GL HF & DQ!!!
