Once again, play the damn game. It does not affect fishing.

Rain obviously doesn't affect fishing ships. You would know this if you have ever played Ra in an actual game of supremacy. Why not try testing that little theory of yours out in the editor before posting.

Clearly ES originally intended Rain to affect fishing too, that's why we see the rain graphic over docks. This feature was taken out long, long ago and what you are seeing is probably just remnants they forgot to tidy up.

Martel & Sam are right. It used to affect fish ships a long time ago, but they fixed it in a patch or something.

This only serves to show how worthless your codehumping is, if it dishes out blatant misinformation.

The code may speak for itself, but I speak for people who play the game and know fishing isn't affected by rain.

So please, stop posting your ignorant crap on here, you do not remember it affecting your fishing, you invoked rain and assumed your food was going up faster. Just go and test it first next time OK?

Also, I'm pretty sure rain did not affect fishing when the game was released, it was removed even pre v1.0.

THATS 0.00108 EXTRA FOOD PER MINUTE!

He is focused on playing supremacy at higher levels, and because he is a good player, he has a bit of an ego. I'm not saying that being good at something is an excuse to be insulting, but I think that he generally wants to help, even if he has trouble doing so without flaming.

L33t Skillz your getting annoying now, your "codehumping" is completely pointless, seriously. PLAY THE DAMN GAME, instead of "codehumping", now go play the game, find out what ACTUALLY HAPPENS when you play the game, instead of "codehumping". Ok? your protox crap is worthless. So don't post it. "the code speaks for itself" jesus, half of the code is outdated by updates.

PER BOAT!

I know that the rain boost showed in my experimental results is an exciting discovery, but food is only saved as an integer value, and the timer trigger was only accurate to about ~10 ms so anything beyond the 3rd or 4th decimal place is insignificant.

I'm curious where that bonus gets removed, because usually modding the protox really does change things in game.

I seriously and completely honestly remember it affecting my fishing boats, I don't care if I "codehump" but the thing I don't get is how that is different, because those are extremely similar objects and both are specified in equal syntax.

oromis basically said what i did with your ridiculous topic about the chimaira upgrade hahahaha

this stuff is pointless, u guys gotta focus on stuff that helps u win games, not get .000018 food or whatever it was

what the **** are you planning on doing with like 5 more food after the rain is over?

The chimera upgrade you can't blame me on, the game says it does, the number for that isn't listed in the game and it's not easy to notice a difference of 4 damage on a special.

But i remember using this and I'm pretty sure it sped up my fishing, maybe I was making a mistake, but I think it did. And btw this is one of those few things that I don't know why, but I remember doing. Repairing the sentinals and using customize unit I do remember.

Imagine Ra going full cf water at 5:00 on Medit, blocking all aggressive water godpowers (shockwave, resto, etc), and still hitting Heroic at 7:30. That's why.

Martel stop arguing you're obviously wrong, you only need 1000 fishing ships to get 1 extra food in the minute of rain.
So no matter what you say, it improves it, not by anything that'll ever possibly matter but it still improves, you can't take that fact away

I assume you are joking, but in case you are not/someone believes you:

Oboe's test is just not accurate to that many decimal places, any difference is just standard experimental error, not an actual observable difference in gather rate.

before replying with:

You're answering why it was changed, but he was asking why the bonus doesn't work, because the protox is not just a useless text file - the script in there certainly does get used, as any modder can tell you. So it looks like there may be something else somewhere that cancels the bonus.

I did another extension of the test and surrounded the docks with town centres and still no bonus, just to be sure

They gathered the exact same food in the exact same time, the only difference is that trigger times are only accurate within ~10 ms (depends on computer speed).
I triggered it to pause at 200 seconds, and I used the millisecond timer for the calculation, and the pauses happened at slightly different times (1 trigger operation apart, most likely).

If I were to continue repeat that experiment with a much higher sample size, I assume the 0.5159 would always be there, and the rest of the numbers would change.

Yes i was joking, Martel

Maybe in the protox file of the dock or fishing ship will tell you what happened to the bonus?

I'll check the techtreex file and protox file

checked:

proto texts
-Dock
-Fishing Ships
-Settlement Level 1 (Town Center)
-Fish - Mahi

techtree texts
-rain power tech

Can't find anything..

The rain godpower text construction seems rather incomplete :/ especially about the fish, it's fishy.
