It has hit me recently: I am not fully sure of when is the best time to use Huskarls, on this game. After all, unlike AoK... Huskarls here are pretty bad against even anti-cavalry infantry. With Huskarls being countered by both anti-cavalry infantry and anti-infantry infantry whereas Jarls only need to worry against anti-cavalry infantry, if at all... Well, when should I be using the Huskarls?

Not a spécialist but i see huskarls as attacking/offensive unit which is the best thing to invade a camp with firing buildings if you bring some rams.
The interrest is that the can take a forum easily (un like the jarls).
It is also useful against ranged based armies.
The rauding cav is more for défensive issues (pratical to train) and when there are archers (i find the raiding cav more pratical when there are not a lot of ranged units)

Huskarls are interesting units. Despite being labelled as specialty counter-archers, they're actually about as good as Ulfsarks at most things.
Damage is slightly worse, true. But they're faster, MUCH better against all pierce attacks, and actually slightly tougher against hack attacks due to their massively improved HP (especially for Odin). Their cost is actually about the same too because Wood gathers so much faster than Food. In fact, you might even say their cost is better because food is needed for critical units like Jarls and Raiding Cavalry and Valkyries but wood isn't.
I think of them basically as well-rounded infantry with the added bonus of being great against archers (and tough against ranged buildings for that matter). If you're Odin, Huskarls are going to be better than Ulfsarks all the time.
They're going to be a very solid choice against Egyptians who rely heavily upon pierce damage (chariot archers, priests, and petsuchos are all staple heroic age units for starters). They're going to be worthless against the Norse who have basically zero pierce damage units and have a cheaper hard-counter in the Throwing Axemen.

That's true but don't forget that it is trained in hill forts, less pratical than barracks.
And for défense purposes it isn't very efficient compared with the huge attack of the ulfsark, useful against siege weapons, infantry and cavalry especially if they are attacking your buildings
