Woah, I just played for 2 and a half hours. o.x
This Sandbox RPG Scenario is like the Skyrim of AoM for up to 6 human coop players.
We had some noob version where everyone gets a free Setna to follow around and heal the hero, but played on medium difficulty.
We started with 4 players. All survived the first area and settled over to the second area. Only on the goat quest we missed out, one of us had accidentally killed it. I was standing next to the dead goat with my archer, but I was the red player so my clothes were red before, that wasn't goat blood I swear.
On the second area we lost two guys, our host in the mountains and jason was up there against a gladiator in the far east all alone. This guy later went Sparta on our Automaton army for a bit. But the goblins are nice unlike some other dudes and unlike some misleading signs suggest.
The Son of Osiris was kinda funny with the Kraken Bay freeing. The old mans Riddle (421?) was weird, but he did not want to be hit afterwards so we left him alone. Bandits attack you instead of paying of course. Also there is this hidden Bird Man Mountain, where the Bird Men live. And a mummy.
We of course found the Carcinos relic and used both Portals to our advantage. Sometimes teleportation is faster than a boat. But having 4 boats doesnt help you with resettling to the north.
The Medusa fight was great, her area is pretty helpful to her with some fire walls securing her from close combat for a while and trapping all the other people from running away from the arrows.
In the swamp some convicted prisoners of the swamp people convinced us to destroy their place of worship, kill all the swam people and ultimately release the prisoners, probably murderers and thieves. We went along, it was a great plan. But boy when they came back to the city that must've been a suprise, by that some black magic stuff had destroyed most of it.
I never bought a Behemoth Ride from the Swamp People(s eastern cousins?).
After we finally finished everything there was to do on the 2nd land we finally found the mountain key. I thought the host had it when he died and took it with him, but the mountain key was never touched (?) in the area where it belonged. Though if you dont take your (easy version) Setna immediately through the portal he may be left behind.
Noticing the king about the Demon from the Mountain Key Vulcano some Anubites spawned and killed the king. 114 damage Anubites are no joke. Of the Automaton army only 6 remained.
The Dryads are no joke either. 2 of them nearly killed me, I had to run, but luckily the light gate went up again.
After talking to a hungry Rhino we reached the last land with just 2 players. There my ally got killed quite quickly by an avalanche trap. Dont go up there, send something else. Or just sacrifice a player at that point. I dunno if restoration will help. And after the big dwarf revealed the truth of the land of the memories to me, I got dieded. No joke either, he didnt went for my Setna so i was just running away until I died. So I never woke the Sleeper.
As for Hero Balance, out of the 16 choosable heroes I believe Jason and Atalanta are kind of bad. Atalantas Damage upgrades by 1 or something, Hippolyta gets +3, Heracles and Polyphem are strong too I am told. Heracles I never saw, but Polyphem I tried for the starting area and his damage went up good leveling Strength (Huskarl).
The Theseus Automaton army is nice until it dies and Theseus remains a weak hero with some good summon spells.
The Pharao had also good summons but was on the brink of death all the time and died first by far. Pretty much in the beginning of the second area up in the mountains.
Did any of you play the Children of Memories? How far did you get?
