wouldn't it be cool if you could raise Cairns in AoM. just after a recently won battle you could tell your villigers or mabey your military units to raise a cairn with all of the dead bodies and weapons.
that way there could be mounds of shattered swords and broken helmets on top of a mound of bodies to simbolise that a massive battle had taken place there.
so what do you think?

Where a "cairn" = "Mounds of shattered swords and broken helmets on top of a mound of bodies?"

Sounds like a novelty I'd try twice and then forget about. As a scenario item? Now you're talking. It could be quite usefull in scenarios, now that I think about it.

Don't find what "cairn" is.

Good idea. But would it be more than eye-candy?

a cairn is a pile of rocks placed OVER a body or group of bodies. It is more common in frozen lands or places where the ground is very hard or otherwise unsuitable for digging; at least among cultures that prefer to "bury" their dead.

Because cairns were more obvious and impressive than a simple grave, in later years sometimes they were raised over bodies which were actually buried under the earth, just to make a better memorial.

For obvious reasons the Norse used cairns from time to time (especially in winter). The Egyptians never built cairns as far as I can tell -- mummified rich folk and just dumped poor folks in a sand dune. Dunno about the greeks.

Thx for explaining Sandyman, now I know what it is.

Even visited some huge ones in a wood near here.
