I know little (which translates into nothing) about game programming, but I think it would be a really cool idea if we could customize our game interface. For instance, some buttons in AoE2, i NEVER use, i just use the hotkeys. if there was a way to get rid of the ENTIRE interface except the mini map, and the unit/units selected, you could see more on the screen. I dunno... I just think it'd be cool, cause the more "viewing space" the better!

Its you! I remember you!
Not a bad idea, I've nothing against AoKs interface, but there has been a few times where a lot is happening and I wouldn't mind the extra viewing space

Good idea, actually.
Don't forget that in AoM we'll have zooming ability that will allow us seeing more of the battlefield.

I actually like this idea but like Hairy Scary Man said, the interface looks great. But I have one complaint after looking at it one more time...the slots under the age name kinda of block the view space. Kind of irritating me now but uhh, the game is still changing...even then I will get used to it.

There's a number of games where you can do this, but none were RTS's that I can recall Dunno how practical it is, but it lets you take cool screenshots.

What more viewing space? eh? Why dont you make the in-game res more, I wonder if there will be more than only 3 options. And about the Hotkeys, I think you can customise them if they are abit different, and I dont think any one uses the buttons, well maybe rooks.

You can't increase the resolution to incease viewing area in a 3D game.

Good call about the resolution, Knight (I assume you are right. I actually have NO idea on how anything that goes on in a computer works).
In response to Paradox, even if you could make the resolution higher (which i do in AoE2:TC, and will do in AoM), it's always better to have the most "screen view" possible.
