In AOK i realy hated the wonders winnig i thought, maybe in AOM instead of winning the game automatically, once you build a wonder you'll just get all your chosen god powers again, allowing you to reuse them. this will put you in a great advance over your enemy but it wont win the game for you. what do you think? do you have any better ideas?

I agree that wonders sucked in AoK, and they should be made more useful, but about an extra GP, I don't think so.
Welcome. I'm fairly new too.

ES says they have plenty of new stuff up their sleeves for wonders. No telling whether they will still win the game for you, but lots of people have proposed that building a wonder will give you an extra civ bonus. (The same idea, we know, is being implemented for relics.)
The extra god powers idea is excellent (opens up a lot of new possibilities,) but I'm afraid ES is trying to stay from anyone having more than 4 GPs per game, even for the cost of a wonder.
I'll leave Hairy Scary Man to give the traditional "welcome" post, but I hope you enjoy your stay at AOMH!
Did the above make any sense? GOOD. Let's continue. Winner of my very own Does Not Like Two-by-Fours to the Head Award! Today I am feeling No, I am not a Templar of the Flying Purple Hippos, but of many other things I can't explain in a 500 character signa--urk!

Welcome to AOMH talos! Where we put the fun in disfunctional and the laughter in slaughter!
Anyways, I think that wonders should be in the game, but they shouldn't give you a GP. We'll just have to wait and see what ES has done with them.

I agree, Wonders should provide a bonus or something. My theory about the Temple of Edfu Wonder is that it allows you to build the second Pharaoh.

Welcome to the forums, Talos I agree wonders in AoK weren't fun. I usually played with conquest victory conditions. It'd be cool if each wonder would have something unique.

IMO... If wonders gave you all your good powers back, it would give you too much of an advantage over the opponent. Instead, what if wonders increased the efficiancy of all units and building... such as making you villagers work faster, making you buildings research and make units faster, and making your soldiers attack in shorter periods of time...
As a morale type thing... the affect wouldn't be too dramatic (so it wouldn't be dicisive of the game's outcome), but it wouldn't go un-noticed!

Welcome, Talos. At least some of the posters here (myself not included) are sane.

Two pharohs? That would probaply cause some struggle for power and a civil war. But having two would be great, otherwise.

On this day we lost our friend Psychic Ostrich. We will remember him as a great man who likes to listen to other people's conversations. We will now take a minute of silence and remember the victim slain by the ES employees who do not give us information and cause our heads to explode. Long live Psychic Ostrich.

We already know the Lighthouse wonder-type-building provides you with a long LOS and nothing else, which lends to EE-style wonders.

Could you elucidate for those of us who haven't played EE?
Each wonder gave you a large bonus, and you could theoretically build all of them in one game. Building a certain number of wonders and defending them for long enough would also give you victory.

LOL you cant win with wonders in EE.. i would like wonders to belike s00ped up relics in AoM. i bet we will ahv some really cool wonders. like egpytian pyramids (white ones with the gold cap stones still on them), the lighthouse, temples in the mountains and stuff...

Wonders would be cool even if they were just villager-built eye-candy. That's what I think.

On the contrary, unless you disable the wonder victory condition, you can. By default it's set to three wonders, from memory.

I think that possibly Wonders should be a building that upgrades your god/monster or whatever it is. But you should have to bring resources and drop them off at the wonder instead of just clicking the reseach button once you have enough overall resources. It would be like a sacrifice/giving to the God.
This is a bit off topic but I just thought of something. Maybe you should be able to capture enemy soldiers and make them tell where important things are...
Just a thought....

That doesn't fit into an RTS game. It'd be too micro-managing for AOM. There is no conversion either, so soldiers stay on their creator's side.
