As has been emphasized by Bruce Shelley many times before,
Well, one of the most crucial aspects of the past Age games — and likely of almost any RTS game to date — is the default camera angle. Not only will the "correct" camera angle facilitates gameplay, having the right angle will set the right mood for the players from even the very first minutes a player puts his hands and eyes on the game, and it will shape his opinion about the game from then on. I remember Greg Street mentioning about the “crucial first minutes” when a player tries out the game — if I remember correctly, Greg believes that if a game fails to “reach out and grab” the players’ undivided attention in those early minutes, it would likely not going to make it. One of the things that would make or break this is the camera angle of the game. What are your thoughts on this?
